About Council District 1

Council District 1 is located in the south central part of Bloomington. Consisting mostly of quiet residential neighborhoods, the district is home to the beautiful lower Nine Mile Creek gorge and the pristine, undeveloped Minnesota riverbottom park. Three neighborhood commercial centers, Oxboro, Valley West, and Normandale Village, serve residents with shopping, medical and dental care, and other services. Dwan Golf Course, one of the Twin Cities' most popular 18 hole public courses, leads the list of developed park areas in the district.
